iLearningGlobal really hit home for thousands of people. When I joined the MLM industry I joined for the content provided by iLearningGlobal, and nothing more. The value was unbelievable. I was fortunate enough to join shortly after iLearningGlobal launched, so was in for quite some time.
The successes of iLearningGlobal
There were many! Firstly the people who backed iLearningGlobal were of the highest caliber in the world. Literally! With names like Bill Bartmann, Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen and many more, where could you go wrong? Then there was the financial aspect! And it was good! I have a few friends who managed to start earning in the upper end of the 5 digit income in only a few months.
So what went wrong?
I’m currently in the UK and received an email from iLearningGlobal announcing a change of their business model. My first response was that it was probably nothing major but when skimming over the email and seeing them quoting some of the terms and conditions I thought I should start over and read it properly.
This came suddenly and unexpectedly! A good friend of mine, and a top earner in iLearningGlobal had just received a phone call from iLearningGlobal letting him know ‘in advance’ what was happening. He was trying to negotiate a softer approach and a delay to organize some options for his iLearningGlobal team. While he was on the phone the email went out. We all found out at the same time. If any of you out there are bitter towards your leaders, don’t be. There is a really big chance that they found out when you did.
Why the sudden fall?
Rumors are all we have right now. I’ve been fortunate to hear these rumors from people much higher up in the company than me, so I do hold them with value.
The first rumor is that there were only a handful of people actually making exceptionally good money with iLearningGlobal.
The second rumor could probably explain why there was such a sudden end to the MLM model. iLearningGlobal was growing rapidly and people were starting to make money. Unfortunately most people in the company were not watching the signature videos iLearningGlobal provided. Put another way, not enough people in the company were using the product. We all know what a ‘MLM company’ with no product is- a Ponzi scheme. I want to emphasize that iLearningGlobal was DEFINITELY NOT a Ponzi scheme. However, as so many people were not using the product and starting to make money the MLM authorities were starting to look into it. The names backing iLearningGlobal can obviously not be tainted with being involved in a Ponzi Scheme. This would explain the sudden and dramatic end more emphatically.
Unfortunately there are many people hopping on the band wagon here searching for fall out like vultures after a kill. There are some eagles flying in with the vultures, and I want to commit these people. I have seen many articles already where clearly NO research has been done telling us that iLearningGlobal has shut their doors forever. This is not true. The business model has been changed, but the content is still there. I for one will keep my iLearningGlobal membership. For iLearningGlobal marketers the new price will be around $39, for new people who would like to join iLearningGlobal the price will be around $59. This is down from $179! So many of us were willing to pay $179 for this content, so to have it for this new and lower price is unbelievable.
The future of iLearningGlobal is uncertain at the moment. But while the doors are still open I will try and get as much value as I can. No matter what business you are in, whether you are an entrepreneur or have a job, you WILL get value from iLearningGlobal.
On that note, I have absolutely no regrets having worked with iLearningGlobal over the past year. Being business men/women we have some amazing opportunities open to us.
If I am able to find out any more information I will update this article. So check back regularly.

I think you did a great job with this blog. Keep up the good work.
Great Post Rich! Thanks for your professionalism. I couldn’t agree with your more. I will be in touch my Friend! I am following your BLOG.
Terence
Business is business. Think we were attracting some of the internet professional marketers who have since moved on to other MLM’s. I for one will continue to use the product as I became a product of the product over the last year.
Thank you for the blog.
I can only agree with you. Everything you said it true and to the point. I know that you are a leader that does research before producing articles. Well done

The fact remains that ilg is probably a commerical failure, so the huge commissions had to go. I think the huge reduction in membership fee screams of this as the infrastructure is already in place, ie bandwidth etc. If this baby disappears in the next 6-9 months then I´ll have been right. If you look closely to the current trends in buying behaviours, you´ll notice the self help market has peaked with the likes of NLP seminar´s and events taking huge hit´s, well known author´s not selling as many books, even the spiritual brigade are struggling. So why would someone want to pay 179 dollars a month to watch video´s, I mean who has the time to get back that kind of value in a month? Or, was it purposefully set up that way so people like you can make a living out of selling it?
Sorry Richard it´s obvious what´s going on and there is no conspiracy theory, the project didn´t work out and now will lost its shine due to adverse publicity. So I´ll eat my hat if it´s still around by Christmas.
Issue number 1. Most MLMs I’ve ever seen are based on the fact that a few people make the most money. It is the 80/20 rule taken to the extreme. The 20 of the 20. 4% of the whole.
Issue number 2. If as Lesley suggests the self-help/positive psychology industry has taken a hit, it is directly because of the Internet. Give me any topic and I’ll find a hundred videos on You Tube. Give my a brillian topic you want to think about and I’ll give you TED.com. Add to that fact of course that you can down load most Anthony Robins or Brian Tracey programs from a peer to peer. Heck I have a bunch of people send me links to all the Bob Proctor seminars uploaded here and there on different sites.
Issue number 3, which is the real killer for ILG. TIME! More than ever before, people are time impoverished. By the time they’ve finished their Facebook and Twitter, both of whom by the way take you to another thousand videos of this and that, who has time for paying for an on-line content site even if it did prove of value. Add to that videos on your smart phones, and technology like PVR where you can prerecord your cable signal to watch programs when every you want means you now have to have a very deadly almost scientific process to both target and then catch your target demographic.
I’ve also seen a number of free sites cropping up that will be similar as well as yes, new social media sites etc. The pie gets smaller for everyone. MLMs are croping up every second and the two reasons persist why their success is so illusive. One people won’t sell to their warm market and never have much less a cold one, and two, people may sign up with the all the hype but when it comes to execution, they simply don’t have the time.
I’m with Lesley…. it will be gone by Christmas ’cause even with a recuded price, (and I can’t believe people actually paid as much as they did) there’s too many other places to put your money and your time.
Hi Rich.
You did a great job with your blog concerning ILG.
I too have felt blessed by the association that I have
had with the community of this company.
I will maintain my membership as well.
I knew that they had been considering a
move toward an affiliate program as we were
receiving a lot of negative response once mlm
was mentioned. I hope there will still be a way
to introduce people to the company. I feel again
that I must readjust my sites now and look elsewhere
for a company that I can again fall in love with. I wasn’t
looking for one when ILG came my way
How often do you write your blogs? I enjoy them a lot 5 7 2
I believe it was doomed from the beginning because of the very clause in the policies and procedures that they included in the note to their reps. They would not have put that clause in to begin with if they believed in MLM. If you believe something will not work, then it won’t plain and simple. Also the fact that the product was overpriced based on where else you can get this information, as mentioned in other comments, was a killer. And if the company doesn’t pay everyone something, instead of just the people at the top, the attrition will kill the company if the government doesn’t. It all comes down to the 5 pillars of success in MLM. iLearningGlobal never had them! For anyone who does not know what they are I would be happy to teach you so your next MLM company won’t do this to you.

Apparently, ILG has not shut down. However, ILG did shut down its network marketing sector for a traditional business model. This information came from Eric Allen himself.
Hey Rich,
As a fellow ILG associate I loved the company but that’s because I am very invested in personal development. I was surprised by the news but there is one thing I have come to learn about business in general and that is change can happen at any time and unless you are on the board of directors or similar you will never really know what is going on in any company. Even then this is no guarantee as history has shown.
The ILG experience exactly as it happened is what you attracted into your life like everybody else who was involved, however the lessons to be learned will all be extremely personal in nature. The real question is what is your lesson to learn from this and what might you do differently in the future?
I have no doubt that you will continue to be a leader wherever else you go and the people around you will benefit enormously so it’s a win win situation. All the very best to you for the future.

Marcus Baker´s last blog ..R.I.P iLearning Global Network Marketing – What’s The Lesson?
hey Rich…thanks for the post…just wanted to share a few thoughts.
I was a marketer with iLearningGlobal marketer for 14 months. I was a consistent Premium/Edge ‘user’ of the product, and found it to be truly transformational due to the content. And, I had a small organization…at one time.
However, I cancelled my subscription 5 hours before the iLG corporate e-mail went out.
Coincidence…hardly.
Did I have an inside track on iLG’s corporate decision making…hardly.
So what caused me to make an informed business decision to no longer promote iLearningGlobal as a network marketing ‘opportunity’?
It’s very simple.
I spent 14 months keeping a watchful eye out for ‘red flags’, that might indicate that the company would not go long-term. And is that not what any smart business person would do when investing their time, and resources, in any venture?
Well…there were many ‘red flags’, and I was not the only one to see them.
What’s this all mean? Well to me, it reinforces that due diligence is not something you do prior to joining a company, and then it stops.
Is it not good business sense to keep your ‘ear to the ground’, even when you hear things you do not want to hear, and see changes in the marketplace which also play a factor.
That to me is a no-brainer…for my family’s financial future is at stake.
I’m grateful that my eggs were not all in the ‘iLG basket’…
And is that not good business sense, to diversify your investment of time and resources, especially in these times of uncertainty?
I am amazed that many leading marketers in iLG say they were ‘blind-sided’, with the news. I’m sorry, it’s just a bit hard for me to believe.
I personally was not.
Is it disappointing? …sure.
For what it’s worth, and I learned it the hard way years ago…always be a student of the industry you are in, and never let a day go by without keeping your finger on the pulse of the companies you choose to represent.
If you don’t, you just might get ‘blind-sided’, and that can really hurt.
All the best to you and yours Rich…keep in touch…

Good job Rich.
The good news is that new horizons are out there just shouting your name.
You will be terrific, you are a survivor, a visionary and a leader to follow.

Pete´s last blog ..My New MLM Opportunity Has Arrived…. and About Time Too!
Aloha Rich,
and thank you for this blog and that helps! Yes, I’ve been only a few weeks with iLG, in Dave W. team, and I enrolled FIRST because of him, and SECOND because of it is a Personal Development company.
So actually, I can put First and Second in switched places !
I don’t really care the reasons why the head of ILG decided to close the mlm bus, what is important is what we learn from that, as we say in marketing: What’s In It For me?
I believe that instead of being bitter and upset, after the shock of the news – which I have been for a few minutes, well hours, ok- we are just richer than yesterday because of that: the biggest the challenge, the biggest the learning, and the reward so.
I keep my membership with ILG of course, the product remains fantastic! And so is the price now. ( well, I’m a learnahoolic, so of course it’s a product for me, hahaha)
What are you doing now Rich? What did you learn , what is your decision, action, following this?
make it a great Sunday!
Brigitte
